Honeyed Bread & Butter Pickles

Brine Ingredients:
 6 cups apple cider vinegar
 1 ½ cups water
  ¾ cup honey
 1 ½ tsp turmeric
 1 ½ tsp mustard powder
 1 tsp salt
Pickle Ingredients:
 Cucumber slices (washed and cut into ¼ inch rounds)
 1 lb onion (cut into thin slices)
 Hot pepper slices (thinly sliced)
 2 tbs yellow mustard seeds
 1 tbs celery seeds

Bring brine to a rolling boil and keep hot while filling jars.


Mix cucumber slices, sliced onion & hot pepper slices in bowl, and toss with mustard seeds and celery seeds.


Pack cucumbers and onions in jar, leaving a little room at the top. Ladle in brine, filling up to ½ inch headspace to top of jar.


Remove air bubbles by gently tapping the jar on the counter. Clean rim of jar if needed (top and sides.)


Put lid on, and rotate ring ¾ turn. Can in a hot water bath 15 minutes.
