The slow-cooker does all the work for you! Add your stew beef and shredded cabbage, and a few hours later dinner is on the table. Serves well with some mashed potatoes (toss in some cauliflower, turnips or rutabaga for a funkier mash.) This delicious, sweet stew is brimming with flavor and texture, and the addition of slowly braised beef makes it a complete meal. The recipe is time but not labor intensive, so make sure to read all the way through before you get to cooking. This warm salad has all the flavors of Fall-- squash, cinnamon, maple syrup-- and can be served vegan (without the goat cheese.) This variation on our Slow-Cooker Red Cabbage recipe uses tart cherries for a Summer dish rather than tart apples in Fall.
